PLEASE NOTE: YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE STAR TSP 100 DRIVER BEFORE CONNECTING THE RECEIPT PRINTER TO YOUR COMPUTER. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THIS DRIVER BY CLICKING HERE
- Once you have installed the Star TSP driver, connect the power for the printer to the mains and then plug the USB cable from the receipt printer into a USB on the computer (on a tower P.C, connect to the USB's on the rear of the machine, not the front facing ones)
- Your cash drawer connects to the RJ11 input on the back of the receipt printer. DO NOT try and plug your receipt printer into the P.C.
- You will see windows installing the drivers it needs in order to work. You should see a symbol in the taskbar at the bottom of windows. Wait for this to fully install.
- You will now need to access your Control Panel and select Devices & Printers.
- You should now see the printer listed under the printers section. If it has a green tick by it (but you have an A4 printer that you use, then right click on the A4 printer and select 'Set as default printer'.
- Right click on the Star TSP100 printer and you will see a few options. Select Printing Preferences.
- When the Printing Preferences box opens, select Advanced...
- Next to Paper Size there is a drop down menu. Select 72mm x Receipt from this list and then press OK. Then click Apply.
- Right click the TSP 100 printer again and this time select Printer Properties.
- Click the tab marked Device Settings.
- Under FRICTION, select 72mm x Receipt
- Under Peripheral Unit Type select Cash Drawer
- Under Peripheral Unit 1 select Document Top
- Once you have set these three options, click Apply and then OK. Exit out of any windows that are open and open Salon Iris.
- In Salon Iris, go to Tools and then Options (or press Ctrl + O on your keyboard)
- Select the Hardware Setup tab.
- Select Configure Receipt Printer.
- Select Use standard full-size Windows printer or USB receipt printer and then click Select.
- Select the Star TSP 100 from this list and click OK.
- If you select Print Test Receipt followed by Print then a test receipt should print out and the cash drawer (if you have one) should open.
