Last Updated: Feb 11, 2017 12:16PM UTC

If you are not comfortable doing this yourself and you are either a support plan customer, a subscription customer or wish to pay for a single support session (£99 ex-VAT per hour) then please call 0121 314 4402 and we can resolve this issue for you.

If you do not have a support plan or are not on a subscription, then please follow the instructions below.

This error usually occurs due to Windows updates altering settings in the computer environment. You will see an error message like this;

To fix this error...
  • Go to Control Panel ;

WINDOWS 8 AND 10: Right click Windows logo and select Control Panel

WINDOWS 7: Left click Start button and select Control Panel

  •  Select Administrative Tools (You may need to change the 'View By' in the top right hand corner of Control Panel to Small Icons to see this option)

  • Select Services

  • Scroll down until you get to S and you will see some SQL services. Have a look for ones named either SQL Server (CMJ) or SQL Server (DSI)
NOTE: You may have both of these. If so, do the same for both services

  •  Highlight one of these and in the top left hand corner, you will see an option to 'Start the service'. Click 'Start'.

  • You will now see a loading bar appear. Let this complete.

  •  You will now see that the options have changed to like they are in the image below. It should also say 'Started' in the Status column of the services.

  • You should now be able to restart Salon Iris successfully.
