Creating a Resource (Treatment Room/Table etc.)

PLEASE NOTE: RESOURCES ARE NOT AVAILABLE 
IN THE STANDARD EDITION OF SALON IRIS.

  • Click on Resources from the top of Salon Iris.


 
  • Click on Add Resource from under Resource Options.​


 
  • Under the General section, give the resource a Name and assign it a Category.
 

 
  • Set the Max Occupancy to the maximum number of clients who can be in the room at any one time.​
 

 
  • Under Linked Services, click on Add Service Link.​


 
  • ​Select the service you wish to link to the resource from the Look Up screen.


 
  • ​You will now see the service listed in the box. Add any other services that are performed in that resource.


 
  • Under Display Options, ​make sure all three boxes are ticked. (They should be ticked by default).


 
  • ​Click Save once you have set up all the options as you wish.
  • Now click Schedule from the top of Salon Iris (or press Ctrl and F).
 

 
  • You will now see that the Resource has been added to the Schedule screen (much like an employee).
 

 
  • Create a schedule for the resource. Set the hours from 30 minutes before opening time to 30 minutes after your closing time on your longest day. (Bare in mind that it will not be bookable without an employee so don't worry about people being booked in before you open or after ​you close).

  • Click Apt Book at the top of Salon Iris (or press F9 on the keyboard).


 
  • You will now​ see the Resource listed on the Appointment Book screen.


 
  • To test the resource, create a ticket for an employee who can perform the service that is linked to the resource. Create the ticket in the employee column, not the resource column. Once added to the ticket, click Schedule/Leave Open.


 
  • ​You should now see that the ticket has been added to both the Employees column and the Resources column.
