What Is A Petty Cash Transaction & How Do I Do Them?

Last Updated: Feb 15, 2017 09:31AM UTC

Petty cash is when you take money out of the cash drawer (example: if you buy coffee for your employees) and money put back in the drawer (example: change from your coffee purchase.) Petty cash transactions do not appear in store sales' totals, but this feature allows you to track miscellaneous money taken out and put back in the cash drawer. They will show up in their own section on your totals report too.

  • Go to the Cash drop down menu and select New Petty Cash Transaction.

  • From here, you must assign who is doing the Petty Cash transaction, and then select whether there is cash being taken out the till, or put back in, along with the amount of cash either way.

NOTE: TO VIEW PETTY CASH TRANSACTIONS THEN SELECT VIEW PETTY CASH TRANSACTIONS FROM THE CASH DROP DOWN MENU. YOU CAN CHANGE THE DATE RANGE OF THESE BY PRESSING THE SEARCH BY DATE BUTTON AND ALTERING AS YOU WISH.
