Connecting an Excelvan POS-58 Receipt Printer

NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL THE DRIVER BEFORE CONNECTING THE RECEIP[T PRINTER TO YOUR COMPUTER
  • Plug in and connect the receipt printer to the computer
  • Go to Control Panel on the PC
  • Go to Devices & Printers
  • You should see the Excelvan as an 'Unrecognised Device'.
  • Download and run the Excelvan Driver.
  • Select your language.


 
  • Click Next.


 
  • Accept the terms and click Next.


 
  • Click 'Install'.


 
  • Click 'Next'.


 
  • Once installed you will see some options. Untick the box to make it your default printer and from the Port drop down menu, select USB001. Then click Next and Finish.



 
  • Go back to Devices & Printers in Control Panel. You should now see the device listed in the Printers section (NOTE: If it is also visible in Unrecognised Devices then do not worry as this is a Windows config issue and the device will still work). Right click on the Printer and select Printer Preferences.



 
  • Make sure the settings look like the image below then click Advanced...



 
  • Make sure the settings look like below and click OK.



 
  • Right click the Printer and select Printer Properties.



 
  • Click the tab named Device Settings.



 
  • Make sure the settings look like the image below (The cash drawer can be set to open either before or after a receipt is printed, but only set this option if there is a cash drawer connected to your receipt printer, otherwise select No cash drawer from the drop down).



 
  • Go into Salon Iris and click Tools > Options.



 
  • Click the 'Hardware Setup'  tab and select 'Configure Receipt Printer'.



 
  • Select 'Use standard full-size windows printer...' and click Select'. From the options here, click on the POS-58 printer.



 
  • You can now select to 'Print Test Receipt' and this should print and receipt and open your cash drawer (if you have one connected)
